Today you've decided to tell you who a Russian woman is. What is her personality like, instructable for so many years for the rest of the world? What is she like the same as the women from your country, or someone enigmatic, who has obtained her own features under the fact of being separated from the rest of the world for such a long time? Sure that seventy years of strong soviet isolation has put its mark on her suggesting its own communist ideal to a woman: her total dedication to the society (during the totalitarian period the government was always superior to her needs and interests), full refusal from all luxuries, ascetic style of life, neglecting individualism in all its manifestations. It seems that everything and everyone can be changed for such a long period, but not a Russian woman. More over, she tried and managed to preserve only the best things from the routine she lived in. Because of inefficient economical functioning of the Soviet system numerous organizations curating any soviet citizen, first of all were trying to make him economize on everything, extend the life of every material thing, even unimpotant one. It may seem a savagery, but a soviet women was accustomed to wash used packets with soap and dry them like linen. Throwing out old used things was like a bad tone they were supposed to be divided into components and used later as helpful untensils in house chores.
Because of the total lack of clothes and shoes any woman was not considered to be a good housewife if she was not able to sew and knit by herself for the whole family, to repair clothes so that at least some generations could use them. Unfortunately the equality between men and women was only in words, in reality women were not allowed to participate in the country administration, and very often even in their families. A kitchen was her place, and as there wasn't any ready-made food she had to spend there all her free time either during a workday, or at weekends. Due to such policy our ladies were taught to nail, to use electrical goods, to be painters, plasterers, designers. Raising new generations was also a great burden on her fragile shoulders. Educating themselves while educating their own children Russian women appeared to be wonderful teachers. Even Russian writers poetized a Russian woman in their poems: "She will stop a galloping horse and will enter the burning house."
But luckily the times have changed. A Russian woman of nowadays can afford a lot to herself, even the things that she couldn't presume to dream about earlier. Desire and possibility to get the university degree, to get professions that used to be inaccessible before, to open the horizons unseen before. It gave the opportunity to widen her circle of friends, to visit other countries, to see other styles of life. And the surprising things is: our hardworking woman, who got accustomed to doing a couple of things at the same time conceiving new things immediately, has managed to adjust to this new world very easily. And she found new friends from all parts of the world who started to understand the new truths. There appeared a lot of new qualities in Russian beauty, wich had seemed to be incompatible before: attractive appearance, that could hardly be met in women of other countries, sweet manners, knowledge in courtesy, and a remarkable soul placability, kind heartedness, tenderness, willingness to help at any moment. Her desire to please her beloved man knows no limits, she is ready to sacrifice everything she has to him. And she doesn't demand anything in return, except a little of spiritual warmth and understanding. Being tender, sexual, she is able to witch any man, as no any other woman can. Yes, a Russian woman is used to sacrifice. Probably even too much. The traditions of many centuries have made her be like that. "Forget yourself" she used to say and continues saying now. "Forget everything, you were created for the husband, for the children, for the family. Calmness, coziness and cleanness that is your mission as a housewife, a true woman and a devoted partner."

People who know Russian women only from books by Russian classical writers would be very much surprised after seeing Slavic women of nowadays: their appearance and their inner world have changed. There are many things that make Slavic women differ from the other representatives of the wonderful half of the mankind.
Russian woman in marriage.
Russian women become mature much earlier than their European or American
contemporaries. They are not so much looked after when a child, they are
more independent, they start adjusting to the conditions of our very
complicated in a financial aspect life much earlier. Many of them start
working at the age of 18 and have to live separately from their parents.
That is why Russian women treat marriage very seriously.
Every girl dreams to put on a white wedding dress, to become a beloved woman
for her only one Man in her life and to have children with him. The girls'
dreams don't demand much from him: he should be strong, handsome and
independent. Many ladies get married at a very early age, sometimes right
after finishing school. Often it is a must - as she is already expecting a
baby. As a rule her husband is her contemporary, who is as young as his wife
and is not ready for the marriage yet. According to the statistical data
most of such marriages don't work. A young and beautiful woman remains alone
with a child and has to earn her living by herself. As a result at the age
of 30, when European ladies are just starting their independent life, our
women have already got some life experience and have children. Their points
of view on life and their demands to their soul mates change too. And when
they find that only one, they already know how to love and to care for the
family.
But unfortunately some women remain single at their 30s. The endless circle
of life school - university - post graduate school - work doesn't leave
them a chance to find their happiness. They spend all their free time on
self-developing. So when the desired is achieved, they look back and see
that the other ladies of their age got married long ago (and some of them
not for the first time), and are busy with raising their children. The
people around are surprised: why such a beautiful and intelligent lady is
single? Within the time it is getting much complicated for her to find her
beloved man, because she wants to be next to as intellectually developed,
serious and independent man as she is. But when this most important event in
her life happens and a Russian woman gets married, she becomes fully
dedicated to her husband and her children. There are a lot of examples when
a successful in her profession and business woman quits her carrier for the
sake of her family welfare.
